So you’ve decided you want to make your fortune blogging. Or at least make your name. And why not? After all, in this age of iPads, iPhones, Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, and any other cyberspace gadget you can think of, why not join ‘em in order to beat ‘em.
Of course, like most things, it’s easier said than done and this is where this nifty little guide to growing a great blog comes in. Blogger and writer, Nick Thacker, has gathered 101 questions to help you get your blog working for you, rather than the other way around, in Building a Blog For Readers.
The idea behind the e-book that Thacker refers to as a manifesto is to help you build a quasi-business plan in order to avoid becoming yet another of the many lost and forgotten blogs littering the cyber landscape.
Ranging from the obvious “Why do you want to blog?” and “Do you want to make money from blogging?” to questions about your competition, Building a Blog will guide you fairly painlessly to the starting blocks.
Easy to read and understand, this is less of a “How to…” book and more of a “What’s your plan?” While each question is followed by commentary and prompts, the answers are not provided. That would defeat the purpose of the exercise which is to get you thinking about what you want to achieve by blogging.
Currently available for Kindle on Amazon, Building a Blog will soon be available in print edition. According to Thacker the print edition will also have pages for readers to write answers and map out their blogging plans.
